Carnauba wais considered among the hardest of natural waxes. It has a high melting point, enhances oil retention, produces a very durable film, is valued as a stable co-emulsifying agent and serves as an exceptional polishing aid.

Carnauba Wais obtained from the leaves of the Brazilian palm tree known as ‘Copernica Cerifera’, also referred to as the “Tree of Life”. The Carnauba palm flourishes in northeastern regions within Brazil, and proliferates naturally along riverbanks, streams and damp low-lands.

The tree exudes wathrough the petioles of its fan-shaped leaves, which prevents dehydration in the equatorial climate. The palm leaves, harvested in the dry months occurring from August through December, are sun-dried and mechanically threshed to separate the wafrom the leaf. The color and quality of the waare governed by the age of the leaves and care used in processing.
